We (SWRB) have a very big idea that, Lord willing, will spread the Reformed Faith faster, further and at a lower cost to end users, worldwide, than ever before in history. This idea came as a result of much answered prayer and over seven decades of combined experience in Puritan and Reformed publishing, international distribution of Reformed resources, and software development. With God's blessing the results of this idea will move a large multitude of people, in many nations, toward much greater godliness (Isa. 2:2-4).

This is the best modern testimony for the biblical principles of civil magistracy -- which were so prominent during the height of the second Reformation -- that we have seen. Price documents the teachings of many of the major Reformers (and some of the church fathers) and in an easy-reading manner simplifies what can at times become a very complex subject. This particular Reformation message, proclaiming Christ's Kingship over the nations (and the practical outworking of the same), has been buried from the view of the general public for some time now, but is once again being brought to light in this very helpful introductory book. An appendix also compares the points of difference between classic (or historic) Reformed teaching and modern "Reformed" teaching regarding magistracy and religion. Special attention is given to the OPC, the PCA and the RPCNA and the changes that these groups have made to second Reformation confessional standards concerning matters related to the civil magistrate. Statements by B.B. Warfield are also contrasted to the older Reformed views. You won't find a better easy-to-read and easy to understand introduction to this important topic -- a topic which impacts directly on every Christian's testimony for the crown rights of King Jesus!
This is a shorter version, as a sermon, of the book above.

This classic book contains an outline of the history of the doctrine of justification from the Old Testament to the author's day, as well as a lengthy exposition of it from Scripture. It also soundly refutes Antichrist's doctrine of justification by faith plus works. 520 pages, indexed.
"We take this opportunity to focus upon the preeminent issues of the Reformation. The present essay seeks to redirect the focus of readers to the bigger picture, providing a framework for assessing Roman Catholicism, contemporary evangelicalism, and the ECT document. This book illustrates how both Romanists and evangelicals have rejected scriptural teaching about (1.) the essence of the gospel, (2.) divinely-instituted worship, and (3.) the marks of a true church. By corrupting the gospel, worship, and the church, evangelicals and Roman Catholics together are making shipwreck of the Christian faith." - Kevin Reed, Making Shipwreck of the Faith: Evangelicals and Roman Catholics Together
"The Counter Reformation is generally considered to have three aspects: the Jesuits, the Inquisition, and the Council of Trent. In view of the significance of the Protestant apocalyptic interpretation of history which prophetically pinpointed step by step the events covering the whole Christian era from the beginning to the end (i.e. Historicism-ed.), it seems justifiable to suggest a fourth aspect, namely the preteristic (Preterism-ed.) and futuristic (Futurism-ed.) interpretations launched by Catholic expositors as a counterattack."
- Kevin Reed, from his book review titled "The Ecclesiology of John Foxe: A book review by Kevin Reed of John Foxe and the Elizabethan Church by V. Norskov Olsen, 1973, citing Olsen on p. 47.
"There never has been any difficulty in the mind of any enlightened Protestant in identifying the woman (of Revelation 17) 'sitting on seven mountains', and having on her forehead the name written, 'Mystery, Babylon the Great,' with Roman apostasy. No other city in the world has ever been celebrated, as the city of Rome has, for its situation on seven hills ... To call Rome the city 'of seven hills' was by its citizens held to be as descriptive as to call it by its own proper name. Hence Horace speaks of it by reference to its seven hills alone, when he addresses, 'Thy gods who have set their affections on the seven hills'. Martial, in like manner, speaks of '... the seven dominating mountains' ... Now while this characteristic of Rome has ever been well marked and defined, it has always been easy to show, that the church which has its seat and headquarters on the seven hills of Rome might most appropriately be called 'Babylon,' inasmuch as it is the chief seat of idolatry under the New Testament, as the ancient Babylon was the chief seat of idolatry under the Old."
- Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons, pp. 1-2, emphases added (on the Puritan Hard Drive)
"It is the bounden duty of every Christian to pray against Antichrist, and as to what Antichrist is no sane man ought to raise a question. If it be not the popery in the Church of Rome there is nothing in the world that can be called by that name. If there were to be issued a hue and cry for Antichrist, we should certainly take up this church on suspicion, and it would certainly not be let loose again, for it so exactly answers the description."
- Charles Spurgeon
"There is no other head of the Church but the Lord Jesus Christ. Nor can the Pope of Rome, in any sense, be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin, and son of perdition, that exalts himself, in the Church, against Christ and all that is called God."
- Original Westminster Confession of Faith 25:6, "Of the Church", without the unbiblical editing of portions of this text done by unfaithful post-Reformation editors and backslidden churches.
There are 15 resources by J.A. Wylie on the the Puritan Hard Drive ( The History of Protestantism [3 vol.], History of the Jesuits, etc.), including The Papacy is the Antichrist (1888) in MP3 format and as an enhanced SWRB PDF, which is integrated with the Puritan Hard Drive software and database.

If you want to understand Reformed theology (i.e., the whole counsel of God) the Puritan Hard Drive is unsurpassed, outside the Bible itself.
The First and Second Reformations gave us the most faithful Scriptural teaching and preaching since the time of the Apostles, and there is no other resource, outside Scripture itself, where you can find so much of God's truth as in the Puritan Hard Drive.
May the Lord continue to use this most profitable tool to promote a Third Reformation that encompasses the whole world (Isaiah 2:2-4)!
- Pastor Greg Price (Covenanter, Author, Theologian, etc.)
It is simple to set up and there is a tremendous amount of material available that will last me for years as I go through it all.
The search tools are, by themselves, well worth the price of the Puritan Hard Drive. It makes finding authors, topics and documents incredibly easy and fast. (The speed itself is amazing!) I also find the ability to copy from any of the (searchable - ed.) PDFs and paste into whatever .doc I happen to have open to be extremely useful.
I'm also glad to see that there are audio sermons/teachings (MP3s - ed.), as well as WMVs (videos - ed) from a variety of speakers and preachers as this provides a well-rounded approach to my own theology.
I've downloaded the entire drive to one of my computers that can handle it, and have it hooked up to a laptop.
The Puritan Hard Drive is a tremendous asset to my library and a huge time-saver for my own learning, preaching, teaching and counseling.
Thank you ever so much for doing this.
- Kevin Guillory (Protestant Pastor who was formerly a Roman Catholic priest), Redeemer Christian Congregation (Baltimore, MD)
Christmas was not celebrated by the apostolic church. It was not celebrated during the first few centuries of the church. As late as A.D. 245, Origen (Hom. 8 on Leviticus) repudiated the idea of keeping the birthday of Christ, "as if he were a king Pharaoh." By the middle of the 4th century, many churches in the Latin west were celebrating Christmas. During the 5th century, Christmas became an official Roman Catholic holy day. In A.D. 534, Christmas was recognized as an official holy day by the Roman state. The reason that Christmas became a church holy day has nothing to do with the Bible. The Bible does not give the date of Christ's birth. Nowhere in the Bible are we commanded to celebrate Christmas. Christmas (as well as many other pagan practices) was adopted by the Roman church as a missionary strategy. - The Regulative Principle of Worship and Christmas by Brian Schwertley (FREE BOOK)

Portions in the latter part of this book deal with Antichrist and the interpretation of prophecy -- and the complete book is excellent!
"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." - 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Click on the red buttons below for the lowest priced Puritan Hard Drive PROTESTANT REFORMERS IDENTIFY THE PAPACY AS THE ANTICHRIST | William Tyndale Martyred |

Whitefield, Jonathan Edwards; and more recently Charles Spurgeon, J.C. Ryle and Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones; these men among countless others, all saw the office of the Papacy as the antichrist." - Michael de Semlyen, All Roads Lead to Rome, p. 205, 1991.
For example, William Tyndale, in "The Practice of Prelates" and in the Preface to the 1534 edition of the New Testament identified the Papacy as Antichrist. For this, and other reasons, he was condemned by the Papal Antichrist, strangled, and burned at the stake.
