Contains a fascinating "summary of those ceremonies whose original is reported in this history, according to the respective order of time wherein they had their rise" -- covering the period from 110 AD to 1470 AD.

The mystery of iniquity has made much progress in the church since the writing of this book; but the foundations of defection were laid during the period covered herein. If we would pull out the idolatrous tree by its roots (in our battle against the inner darkness in the visible church), books like this offer a great deal of help.

It deals with the corruption of the Lord's Supper (in the Mass), Romish holy days (like Easter), and many appendages of ecclesiastical Antichrist -- some which are now taught and practiced in churches which call themselves "Reformed."
