Dr. Matthew McMahon on the Puritan Hard Drive

Banned Article: Former Climate Alarmist Refutes Climate Alarmism (Here Is the Story Forbes Censored, Exploding Myth Of Climate Crisis Alarmism)

Excerpt (emphases added): For a few short hours, Forbes dared to publish a story that challenged the end-of-the-world narrative championed by the likes of AOC and Greta to bully us into accepting their vision of drastic environmental change. One environmentalist, who was himself part of that movement, started to question how the issues were being used to drive global panic, with little or no regard to the relevant scientific facts. For a few short hours, Forbes ran his story. And then they pulled it. There are, apparently, some ‘personal truths’ the Left will not tolerate: ... We were originally going to just summarize some of his key points, but since his message is being actively suppressed, we have made the decision to post his letter in its entirety, leaving our readers to judge it on its meritsWhat follows is the entirety of his censored article: On Behalf Of Environmentalists, I Apologize For The Climate Scare. Read more here

Junk Science Joe Biden Says: “We Only Have 9 Years Left” to Stop Global Warming (VIDEO)

Green New Deal Is a Revamped Communist Manifesto

Excerpt (emphases added): A few years ago at the height of the global warming scare I wrote a book which set out to answer one of the key questions of our time: if climate change isn’t really a problem why do so many people act as though it is? The answer, I discovered, is that environmentalism is just a fashionable mask for the usual leftist obsessions with state control and wealth redistribution. That’s why I called the book Watermelons: green on the outside, red on the insideNot everyone who believes in man-made climate change is a full on Commie. Some are merely useful idiots. But whatever reason people may have for supporting the scam – greed, stupidity, virtue-signalling, idiot leftist teachers – the net result is the same: bigger government, higher taxes, more regulation, lower standards of living. Exactly like you’d get under communism, in fact. So color me completely unshocked by the Green New Deal. It looks like a revamped Communist Manifesto because that’s exactly what it is. If implemented, the size of government would increase to levels never before seen in a Western economy. The state’s control of everything from wage levels to how businesses are run to your personal freedoms would be total. There’s no mention of gulags or political prisoners or secret police but of course those would inevitably follow because how else would the state have a hope of enforcing measures which freedom loving Americans would naturally resist? The only surprise about the Green New Deal for me is that its proponents are so “You can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs,” Communists are fond of saying. The Green New Deal will involve an awful lot of egg breaking.brazen about their plans.

States Welcome Back Single-Use Plastic Bags to Avoid Contamination

Excerpt (emphasis added): Similarly, Just Facts produced a video (see below - ed.) in August demonstrating that plastic bags are actually better for the environment than paper and reusable bags. “The bottom line is, the current crisis has revealed the misguided nature of plastic bag bans, and now cities and states must move quickly to prevent these bans from exacerbating the coronavirus pandemic,” Stepman observed.

In Era of Coronavirus, Banning Plastic Bags Could Be Lethal Because Reusable Grocery Bag Can Spread Disease

Excerpt (emphases added): Outlawing plastic bags is a way to spread diseases; lack of plastic bags ready to go is inconvenient for both cashier and customer; and so far, because of thicker plastic bag replacements, there is four times as much plastic being used than before the ban. Forcing people to bring their own bags into stores and forcing cashiers to touch those bags from many different customers all day long, and then touching the next customers merchandise, can spread diseases. Even if all the customer bags were 100% clean, and if we all wore gloves, cashiers would still be spreading germs from customer to customer by touching all their bags as well as their groceries. Given the prevalence of more common diseases like influenza, it is likely that there already have been some avoidable deaths because of the Oregon bag ban. Influenza only stays viable on a person's skin for 15 minutes, but on inanimate objects, this virus can exist from an hour to a few days, depending on variables such as the composition of the surface, temperature and humidity. Bringing bags into stores increases the risk of disease for all customers and store employees. ... If you think that you're saving the whales by reducing plastic, I'm sorry to disappoint you – not only are plastic grocery bags a very minor part of the plastic being used, but we are now using more plastic than we were before. ... Right now, there is a pandemic of the coronavirus disease spreading all over the world, and despite our president's efforts to keep it at bay, this disease has managed to creep into the U.S. ... Oregon's plastic bag rule (and others like it in other states) has the potential to spread this disease as well as any other disease. Making cashiers and customers go through this inconvenience is completely unnecessary, especially when we're actually using more plastic than we were before! But plastic is not a problem. It's a substance that's very easy to dispose of. It can be burned for electricity, and it is biodegradable. The plastic in the ocean is eaten up by microorganisms, and the only trash that survives is some close to the shore that gets washed up, which is what the leftists use to say that "plastic is destroying the earth." Also see the chart: THE BAN ON PLASTIC BAGS HAS RESULTED IN A FOUR-FOLD INCREASE IN THE USE OF PLASTIC IN BAGS .

Reusable grocery bags retain germs

Excerpt (emphases added): "I classify them as pretty dirty things, like the bottom of your shoes," said Ryan Sinclair of the Loma Linda University School of Public Health, a co-author of the study. He is finalizing another study he hopes to publish soon looking at how pathogens spread through grocery stores with the help of reusable bags. ... Sinclair said the contamination cycle often began right after shoppers entered the store and placed their bags in the bottom or the baby carrier of a shopping cart, two places notorious for germs. "The baby carrier portion of the grocery cart is the most contaminated public surface you ever come in contact with," he said.
