For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16 (KJV)

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. - 1 John 4:16

For God So Loved The World by John Calvin (Calvin's Commentary on John 3:16, Free MP3)

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. - 1 John 4:8

What is the Free Offer of the Gospel? by David Silversides (Free MP3)

"The Puritan Hard Drive is an astonishing piece of work. The scope of material is vast and the search facility is a tremendous bonus. There is enough here to fill a lifetime of study and it is a magnificent tool for genuine research (not to make us all superficial 'experts' in historical theology without proper study!). There are works from a huge number of Reformed worthies of the past and audio sermons up to the present. We commend SWRB for making this wealth of material available to the people of God. With such edifying resources at our fingertips, what excuse have we left for our spiritually supine state?"- Pastor David Silversides (Loughbrickland Reformed Presbyterian Church, Northern Ireland), Author, etc.

Immeasurable Love (John 3:16; Matthew 27:46) Love by Charles Spurgeon (Free MP3)

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. - 1 John 4:7

The Sovereignty of God (11 of 11) by A.W. Pink (Free MP3)

Includes the audio version of Appendix C, The Meaning of "Kosmos" in John 3:16, from Pink's famous book, The Sovereignty of God. A free version of Pink's book, The Sovereignty of God, without the appendices, is online at here. A version with the appendices is here.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. - Ephesians 2:4-7

The Meaning of "KOSMOS" (World) in John 3:16 (from The Sovereignty of God, Appendix 3) by A.W. Pink (Free Online Text)

"The word "kosmos," and its English equivalent "world," is not used with a uniform significance in the New Testament. Very far from it. It is used in quite a number of different ways. Below we will refer to a few passages where this term occurs, suggesting a tentative definition in each case. ... Thus it will be seen that "kosmos" has at least seven clearly defined different meanings in the New Testament." - A.W. Pink

"If you want to understand Reformed theology the Puritan Hard Drive is unsurpassed, outside the Bible itself. The First and Second Reformations gave us the most faithful Scriptural teaching and preaching since the time of the Apostles, and there is no other resource, outside Scripture itself, where you can find so much of God's truth as in the Puritan Hard Drive." - Pastor Greg Price (Reformed Presbyterian Author, Theologian, etc.)

The Free Offer of the Gospel by David Silversides (Free MP3)

It is the duty of all the sons and daughters of Adam, who hear the Gospel preached, and Christ offered to them, to believe in, or receive, Christ, whether they be prepared or not prepared. - George Gillespie (Scottish Covenanter on the Puritan Hard Drive)

Effectual Calling and the Free Offer of the Gospel by Dr. John 'Rabbi' Duncan (Free Online Article)

"In the history of extra-biblical study tools there has never been a resource as useful as the Puritan Hard Drive. The Puritan Hard Drive is a tremendous blessing... you can easily do ten hours worth of research in just seconds!" - Pastor Paul Washer, Founder and Director of HeartCry Missionary Society, Author, Conference Speaker, etc.

Reforming Modern Youth Evangelism and Discipleship (John 3:16) by Paul Washer (Free MP3)

Greetings in our HOLY ONE, Christ Jesus! The truth is the Puritan Hard Drive is not just 25 years of tedious work and the answer to many prayers, but it is a MIRACLE from our HOLY SOVEREIGN MAJESTIC GOD! Try to Scripturally imagine how much Satan hates this type God-honoring and God-glorifying project, and how many times he tried to stop it. Try to imagine the discipline, heartache, persistence, technology and finances it took to see it through to completion -- it is mind-boggling. Common sense tells any thinking Christian that this is an extraordinary and galactic accomplishment! Do yourself a spiritual favor and hold a garage sale and sell all the stuff in your household that you will never use -- SACRIFICE if need be -- and BUY this GIFT OF GOD TO CHRISTIANITY -- The PURITAN HARD DRIVE. This thing is so phenomenal, it is out-of-this-world. The Puritan Hard Drive is absolutely extraordinary! - Jack Windisch, Missionary to Panama (Prov. 10:9)

The Free Offer of the Gospel by Dr. Sinclair B. Ferguson (Free MP3)

"The Puritan Hard Drive is "truly a technological marvel! It is "just wonderful. It is an invaluable resource." - J. Fernandez, Film Producer, "IndoctriNation: Public Schools and the Decline of Christianity in America" (which won Best Documentary at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival)

The Free Offer Of The Gospel: Is It Biblical And Reformed? (from the Free Church Witness) by David Silversides (Free Article at the Loughbrickland Reformed Presbyterian Church Web site)

It more pleaseth the saints that they enjoy God, than that they enjoy salvation. False and carnal spirits will express a great deal of desire after salvation, for they like salvation, heaven, and glory well; but they never express any longing desire after God and Jesus Christ. They love salvation, but they care not for a Saviour. Now that which faith pitcheth most upon is God Himself; He shall be my salvation, let me have Him, and that is salvation enough. - Joseph Caryl (on the Puritan Hard Drive)

Calvin on the Love of God by John Calvin (Sermons on Deuteronomy: Sermon 28)

As the Lord lives, I durst promise it in His name, if we would seek Him we should see the salvation of the Lord. - Samuel Rutherford (Covenanter, Protester, Reformed Presbyterian and on the Puritan Hard Drive)

The Will of God and the Gospel Offer: Samuel Rutherford and Francis Turretin

These passages from classical Reformed theologians and preachers speak of God's desire for or delight in the salvation of those who hear the gospel offer, inasmuch as his revealed will is an expression of his goodness and kindness toward the hearers of the gospel.

Q. 72. What is justifying faith? A. Justifying faith is a saving grace, wrought in the heart of a sinner by the Spirit and word of God, whereby he, being convinced of his sin and misery, and of the disability in himself and all other creatures to recover him out of his lost condition, not only assenteth to the truth of the promise of the gospel, but receiveth and resteth upon Christ and his righteousness, therein held forth, for pardon of sin, and for the accepting and accounting of his person righteous in the sight of God for salvation. - Westminster Larger Catechism, Question and Answer 72, emphases added.

The Soul Winner (1 Corinthians 9:22; John 3:16), 3 of 14, by Charles Haddon Spurgeon (Free MP3)

"The Puritan Hard Drive is the must have digital learning device for Puritan and Reformed studies. Nothing like the Puritan Hard Drive has ever been available before! There is no other way to get such easy, convenient and inexpensive access to so many  great works from the best Reformation and Puritan preachers and teachers, past and present -- and the study software on the Puritan Hard Drive is out of this world in terms of usefulness!" - Pastor W.J. Mencarow (Reformation Church, Boerne, Texas - San Antonio area, Author, Editor of The Paper Source Journal, and has been interviewed on numerous radio and TV programs including "Good Morning America," most networks and in major U.S. newspapers and magazines, etc.

The Sufferings and the Glories of the Messiah by John Brown (of Edinburgh)

"These Expositions are not offered as entirely, of indeed principally, the result of my own personal researches in the wide, and interesting, and difficult field of the Criticism and Interpretation of the Old Testament Scriptures. They are a specimen of what a moderate stock of information on these subjects may do, in enabling a man to turn to account the labors of abler and more learned men." (From the Preface of The Sufferings and the Glories of the Messiah).

As a self-confessed computer bozo (if not leaning somewhat towards computer-phobic at times) I am delighted to report that the technical, usability, etc., side of the Puritan Hard Drive has presented no challenges to me whatsoever! It is as simple as ABC! On its contents front, it surely is unsurpassed in wholesome doctrine. For example, type the word 'sin' into the search facility (using the master search index - ed.) and you will be hard pressed to read more uplifting articles on the Christian life, since post-Apostolic days. ... nowhere can you find, in one concentrated place, the overflowing unction of the Holy Spirit in the rivers and tributaries that comprise the Puritan Hard Drive's simple yet expansive creation. Dr. Steven Dilday Reviews and Recommends the Puritan Hard Drive

Steven-Dilday-Puritan-Hard-Drive-Review.jpg

Dr. Steven Dilday

Pastor of Liberty and Grace Reformed Church in Northern Virginia

For a number of years now, I have followed, and benefited from, the work of Still Waters Revival Books, particularly the Reformation and Puritan Bookshelf CD sets... and now the Puritan Hard Drive.

The Puritan Hard Drive is a remarkable accomplishment!

The common Christian can now have a world-class Presbyterian and Reformed library at his fingertips, for only pennies per volume.

I do not think that it is an exaggeration to say that the Puritan Hard Drive presents an historic and singular opportunity.

The works on the Puritan Hard Drive have been invaluable to me in sermon preparation and in improving personal and familial piety. If these had been the only blessings attached to the reading of these documents, the expense (even if it had been much greater) would have been justified; but there is more here.

In this present time, a great many Presbyterians (particularly in North America) have forgotten and implicitly (perhaps unwittingly) rejected their Presbyterian heritage. Strangely, Westminster confessing churches have rejected the theological distinctives of the Westminster Standards.

Although the Westminster Assembly produced a beautiful statement of soteriological Calvinism, the histories clearly demonstrate that soteriology was not the principle focus, nor chief interest, of the Assembly. The Westminster Assembly was primarily concerned with uniformity in worship (in accordance with the Regulative Principle), the form of church government (Presbyterianism jus divinum), and Church-State relations (the Establishment Principle). It is a sad irony that the great and distinctive attainments of the Westminster Assembly have been ignored and rejected by so many Westminster confessing churches.

However, we may yet entertain the hope that these great attainments are rejected largely because of ignorance. The best books on these subjects have not been readily available; but (thanks be to God) they are available again on the Puritan Hard Drive.

For anyone interested in recovering our Presbyterian and Reformed past, the Puritan Hard Drive is a must.

It is my hope and prayer that the Puritan Hard Drive will be used by God to bring to light the things that were hidden, to call to remembrance the things that were forgotten.
