What Is Biblical Worship? - Defending Historic Reformation, Puritan & Covenanter (Biblical) Worship, First & Second Commandments by William J. Mencarow

As long as you feel your worship brings you closer to God, isn't that all that really matters?

What is Biblical worship? Does your church practice it? How can you tell? As long as it doesn't blatantly contradict Scripture, are churches free to create their own worship styles?

Should you choose a church based on its worship style? What does the Bible say about contemporary/rock music in worship? Praise songs? Hymns and Psalms? Holy days?

Let's go to God's Word and find out the answers to these questions.

"The church in which God's Word does not rule is adulterous. On this basis we conclude that the worship of God must be instituted in accordance with his command. Nothing handed down or introduced by men can be tolerated. It is for God alone to fix the law in our consciences. Only he has the right to ordain what he wants us to do." - John Calvin, Calvin's Ecclesiastical Advice, p. 55.
