Although written with specific reference to the British Constitution, this booklet (originally published in Canada in 1884 "by the authority of The Reformed Presbytery of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia") deals with the biblical principles which should convince Christians to refrain from voting in any of the former British colonies or the United States.

Although Covenanters believe strongly in God-ordained civil government and the legitimacy of political activity by Christians in regimes that acknowledge Christ as King, these conditions do not exist in such countries as Canada and the United States. Rather, the constitutions of Canada and the US contradict the Bible on many points, and it is therefore unlawful for Christians to engage in activities (such as voting) that legitimize those constitutions.

This short introduction to the main issues would be helpful to any Christians who want to honor the Lord in the political sphere of their lives.
